Did you know that every 33 minutes someone’s life is turned upside down by Epilepsy?
For the month of March, we come together to help bring awareness and encourage others to “Make March Purple for Epilepsy”!
Epilepsy is a condition which affects the brain and causes seizures. Seizures occur when there is a disruption to electrical activity in the brain, leading to changes in a person’s movement, awareness, behaviour and/or feelings.
Each week, 305 Australians are diagnosed with epilepsy, and for many people this diagnosis can be life-changing, affecting their education, employment, and social lives.
During March the world turns PURPLE in support of the many people living with epilepsy. Make March Purple is an Australian wide campaign held on 26 March and is an international day to help bring awareness for people affected by epilepsy. This day also helps to encourage more conversation about epilepsy, along with helping to raise funds.
